Essential information for reading prior to your stay.

  • Operating season

    Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is open seasonally during the Canadian summer. In 2024, the lodge will welcome guests from May 23 – September 22, 2024 inclusive. Peak season is from June 20 to September 4, 2024 with early and late shoulder seasons on either side.

  • Length of stay

    Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge offers packages based on a three night stay arriving Thursday and departing Sunday, a four night stay arriving Sunday and departing Thursday, or seven and ten-night stays arriving either Thursday or Sunday.

  • Maximum & minimum occupancy

    Per tent in existing bedding:

    Waterfront Deluxe: 4
    Waterfront Ensuite: 4
    Rainforest Deluxe: 4
    Rainforest Ensuite: 4
    Hillside Family: 8

    The Hillside Family Tent has a minimum occupancy of two adults and two children in the shoulder season and two adults and two youths in the peak season, regardless of age. All other tents have a minimum occupancy of two adults during peak season.

  • Check-in / Check-out times

    Check-in time is from 3.30pm. Check-out time is 12pm. Where possible, flexibility with early check-in and late check-out will be provided, however, these are unable to be guaranteed. The facilities of the main lodge are available for enjoyment whilst at the property.

  • Rates and inclusions

    All rates quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) – please see below for relevant taxes and additional charges. Early shoulder season runs from 18 May to 21 June, peak season from 22 June to 6 September and late shoulder season from 7 to 23 September, with final departure on 24 September. Shoulder and peak season rates apply. Rates apply per tent, per night for a maximum of two guests. Extra Person rate available. A stay at the lodge is generously all-inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner with inspired daily changing menus, a premium selection of wines, beers and spirits, signature guided experiences and one 60-minute relaxation massage per stay (adults and youths only).

  • Environmental sustainability

    Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is dedicated to preserving the natural habitat of Clayoquot Sound which provides the setting for the magnificent experiences we offer. As such, an Environmental Sustainability surcharge of 3% is added to all bookings to help fund our leading local conservation efforts.

  • Service charge, taxes & fees

    In lieu of tipping during the 2022 season, please note a 10% Service Charge is applied to the pre-tax total bill for the benefit of all our resort staff. Federal GST is added at 5%.

  • Payment policy

    A deposit representing 50% of the total cost of booking including taxes and gratuities is due at time of reservation. The remaining balance is due 90-days prior to arrival. We accept Visa, MasterCard or American Express. Settlement is also accepted by direct deposit; please advise Clayoquot Reservations once paid to ensure receipt.

  • Cancellation policy

    We do our best to accommodate guest requests under extraordinary circumstances, but due to our short season and remote location, we cannot make exceptions to our payment and cancellation policies.

    In the event of inclement weather, where possible the lodge will make alternate travel arrangements to ensure that guests may continue their trip as planned. Arrival and departure times may be affected.

    As such, for cancellations and booking amendments outside of 90 days from arrival, a $500 per person cancellation fee is applied, with the remaining deposit refunded. Cancellations and booking amendments made within 90 days of arrival result forfeit all monies paid.

    Refunds or credits will not be granted in the event of non-arrival, any unused services, or unused nights due to travel or weather disruptions. For peace of mind, we recommend you protect yourself with comprehensive travel insurance to cover any cancellation fees.

  • Child policy

    Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge welcomes children aged six years and over. Child rates apply to guests aged 6-18 years.

  • Special dietary needs

    As Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is situated in a remote destination, it’s essential to advise any special dietary needs at the time of reservation. We will do our best to tailor menus accordingly whilst providing opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of premium regional produce. Should notice not be provided in advance, our chefs will endeavour to prepare suitable meals with the ingredients available. We regret we are unable to prepare meals requiring strict religious observance in the preparation.

How do I get there?

The easiest and quickest way to travel to the lodge is to fly to Vancouver in British Columbia followed by a scenic 45-minute seaplane flight directly to the lodge dock.
