Glacial Plunge Health Benefits
While an icy swim may not be everyone’s idea of fun, the new Glacial Plunge experience has become a guest favourite for the many health benefits.
The SeAir flight marks the beginning of your adventure to the rugged, wild west coast of Vancouver Island. Buckle up as the seaplane soars above green forested mountains and remote waterways, and glides over through dramatic gorges before landing on Clayoquot Sound for a spectacular aerial arrival to Canada’s awe-inspiring wilderness.
Learn more about getting there.
Free flights are available for new bookings made before October 31, 2023 for stays between May 23-June 27, 2024 and September 1-22, 2024.
Make the most of Vancouver Island’s gentle shoulder seasons and enjoy cool walks or horseback riding through ancient forest, helicopter adventures and the chance to take the transformative glacial plunge into the cool, pristine waters.
As the weather warms up to a welcoming 7-14°C (44-57 F) during the day, summertime activities begin. The laziest of the black bears awaken from the winter hibernation and can be spotted along the coastline feasting on the first wild berries of the season. Active wildlife make sights of the sound, hiking, and watersports experiences popular among guests.

Summer is in full swing with warm temperatures during the day and comfortable cooler temperatures overnight. Whale migration is at its peak along the coastline making it an ideal time to explore. Daytime temperatures range from 11-19°C (51-66 F) in summer. While the days are long and warm, experiences like canyoning, the new glacial plunge and even the unforgettable heli fly-fishing are sure-fire ways to beat the summer heat.
As the leaves begin to fall, daytime temperatures drop from summer highs to between 9-17°C (48-62 F) and nature on Vancouver Island begins to showcase some of its most remarkable events. The salmon begin their run up the Bedwell River, the black bears seek their refuge from the winter and guests take to archery, mountain biking and horseback riding.
